3fifteen, the Microsoft applications solutions division in the Dimension Data SA Group and Edcon’s e-business solutions partner, has developed and implemented a new workflow solution that streamlines the handling of insurance claims and other notifiable occurrences across Edcon, the blue-chip retail company.
The new Notifiable Occurrence Report (NOR) is designed to ensure that any event for which an insurance claim can be submitted, from petty pilfering to major structural damage, does not fall between the cracks.
The system is one of several workflow solutions 3fifteen has developed on the powerful K2.Net Workflow platform for Edcon.
With the rollout of the new 3fifteen system, managers and supervisors at even the most remote stores simply have to fill in an online questionnaire. This is then automatically submitted to the Edcon risk department that evaluates the occurrence. If it is a claimable event, the correct claim procedure is then instituted and tracked.
“With hundreds of events occurring across the group on a monthly basis, the new application was implemented to ensure that claims are handled efficiently and effectively,” says 3fifteen development director, Jimi Lutz.
